I want to be in control of what happens in my account. I've never bounced a cheque, and I wouldn't want to start now because of some simple misunderstanding with my wife. But, to each his own. If you and your wife have made joint accounts work and you like it, then that's great.Michael Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10362529610470788243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5465015914589377788.post-50272547914198633322010-03-30T00:56:16.194-04:002010-03-30T00:56:16.194-04:00Seems like if "all money belongs to both of u...Seems like if "all money belongs to both of us" then the simple solution is a joint account.

We share your philosophy...it's not his or hers. It's ours. Not only helps the budget, but more importantly, helps the marriage too. For us, it's not 50-50, its all in!!Andy Rnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5465015914589377788.post-53808962118928126472010-03-29T14:41:49.531-04:002010-03-29T14:41:49.531-04:00Nice solution to prevent awkward momentsNice solution to prevent awkward momentsMark Wolfingerhttp://blog.mdwoptions.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5465015914589377788.post-47593281482565907152010-03-29T11:26:12.536-04:002010-03-29T11:26:12.536-04:00Patrick: I guess that's one solution. I find I need a few dollars to buy lunch and a round of golf once in a while.

Gene: A big plus of the automation is that my wife has certainty about what money will be avaiable. She doesn't have to rely on me to remember to fill her account. She also doesn't have to contend with me deciding I'm a little short and cheating her account.Michael Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10362529610470788243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5465015914589377788.post-41696043004593710932010-03-29T11:08:30.976-04:002010-03-29T11:08:30.976-04:00This is an interesting topic, and one that is almo...This is an interesting topic, and one that is almost taboo. I find the money dynamic in marriage is quite complex, even when there is no shortage of money. I imagine it would be very emotionally charged if a family is low on money.

One spouse may think the other wastes money or is too tight with it. Balancing consumption and saving is tough enough with one person, and is trickier within a family environment. I like how you and your wife have largely automated the sharing of resources.genehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05608927986297939720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5465015914589377788.post-18257492533093984152010-03-29T11:05:50.351-04:002010-03-29T11:05:50.351-04:00I don't need to split pay between accounts.
