I respect his ingenuity, multiple skills, and drive, but this way of living is not aligned with my goals. paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00050081178673700867noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5465015914589377788.post-34197112598971813022021-02-01T15:46:27.224-05:002021-02-01T15:46:27.224-05:00That said, I haven't followed the ERE blog. If it deals with practices you've already decided not to follow, I can understand why you might stop following the blog.Michael Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10362529610470788243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5465015914589377788.post-44270522008975832482021-02-01T14:31:10.306-05:002021-02-01T14:31:10.306-05:00Hi Paul,

I like the philosophy of disregarding the expectations of most other people and doing what works for you and those you care about. I also like the idea of considering choices well outside the usual "normal" range. I may only live my life in a way that is 10% like Fisker's life (or even less), but I think it's good to evaluate some things the way he does (even if you end up making a different choice).Michael Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10362529610470788243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5465015914589377788.post-33854558774051605052021-02-01T14:24:11.942-05:002021-02-01T14:24:11.942-05:00I used to follow ERE's blog much like yours or...I used to follow ERE's blog much like yours or my other favorite Financial bloggers. He seemed to create his book with excerpts from all his blog posts. He had very good engagement in the comments as well. He regularly had dozens if not hundreds of comments.<br />I have not read his book, so I am not sure how much of his daily lifestyle was mentioned. IMO It's not practical for everyone to live in a trailer as an extreme minimalist in order to be successful (at FIRE) using his tips. Making a low cost cost, but I'm sure, tasty recipe to eat beans for several days in a row in order to hyper-save is not everyone's dream of ER. To me he is/was just surviving, not living. I'm sure he would disagree with my take on that.paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00050081178673700867noreply@blogger.com
