Yes, you can report capital gains. A...@Anonymous,

Yes, you can report capital gains. Also, I do believe you can import data from the previous year's file, though it might just be basics like name, address, SIN. I don't recall if it carries forward things like RRSP room or capital losses.

If you aren't sure if you want to use it, I recommend using one of the free online trials and then entering that data into StudioTax to see how it handles various situations.

The author of the software claims it's more secure, since it doesn't collect your data on a website. I'm not too concerned about a data breach at ufile or Quicktax, but he does have a point that the data you enter never leaves your computer.

Generally, you will be able to netfile, though, as long as you are eligible.genehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05608927986297939720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5465015914589377788.post-18187107390278191302011-01-15T17:44:52.888-05:002011-01-15T17:44:52.888-05:00@Anonymous: To the anonymous commenter who has ha...@Anonymous: To the anonymous commenter who has had difficulty contacting QuickTax (now TurboTax), I'm afraid that I haven't had any reason to contact them about problems.
