1. Larry Swedroe patiently debunks a recent Wall Street Journal attack on the buy and hold strategy. It’s amazing that people make claims that can be easily proven wrong by just looking at the numbers.

2. Million Dollar Journey had an amusing guest post by Kathryn about family lessons on Sex and Money.

3. The Male Storm and Canadian Capitalist report that if you’re willing to jump through a few hoops you can get $200 free from TD Canada Trust.

4. Larry MacDonald reports on the dismal interest rates offered on new Ontario bonds compared to bank GICs.

5. Preet has a great idea for a Father’s Day gift.

6. Big Cajun Man runs down the latest changes to the Consumer Price Index.

  1. Thanks for the mention have a GREAT weekend

  2. Let's say buy-and-hold totally sucks, which to be fair is true is some time periods. Is there anything better? I'm not convinced there is.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. CC: You're right. This reminds me of the saying: "democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the other kinds."

  4. On the buy and hold front, reporters don't check facts, they are fed stories. When and if the market swings back to a buy and hold environment, they'll be fed a buy and hold story which they will print hook, line and sinker as well.

    Thanks for the link.

  5. Thanks for the link - I think it would be fine for Mother's day too. :)

    Have a terrific Father's day!
